Save NASA Rally

Republican and Tea Party groups From Houston and Galveston will be holding a rally to save jobs at NASA. The rally will begin at 6:30 PM at the League City Sportsplex.

The rally is being held to protest a Democratic fundraising rally help under the auspices of saving jobs at NASA. The rally is sponsored by the AFL-CIO Union and Speakers will include Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Gene Green, and will be hosted by Jim Yarbrough.

Republicans and Tea Party members are upset that the democrats taking advantage of an issue of vital importance to the Houston - Galveston Bay Area. The feeling is that it is the Obama administration that has made sweeping cuts to the space program and are now trying to pin this on the past administration.

Apollo 17 commander, Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, told lawmakers Wednesday the Obama administration's plan to shift near term space flight to private industry could result in a 10 year gap between the end of the shuttle program and the debut of reliable rockets.

NASA faced similar circumstances when Bill Clinton slashed the budget which forced mass layoffs during the 90's. Since NASA isn't a social program, Democrats seem to have little use for this program with the exception of pushing the global warming myth.

Leaders from the GOP and the Tea Party urged people to be respectful and to be aware that many media outlets are likely to be in attendance.

Chrysler's Fall May Help Administration Reshape GM. This headline should cause us all to wake up and realize that in the last 100 days, our country has made such a major shift away from freedom and liberty to that of tyranny and government control.

Since when is it the government's place to reshape any private business interest? The US government now has a controlling interest in General Motors as well as much of the banking industry. The implications of this are quite significant because this is the most significant step towards socialism since the New Deal.

The last time I checked the one business that the US government does run, the US Postal Service, is in a complete shambles and has been running in the red for quite some time. The funny thing is, it's not even supposed to make a profit, just break even and they can't even manage to do that.

One could argue that Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the IRS are all businesses too and of course all of them are horribly inefficient. The only government agencies that are somewhat efficient are our military but of course the bureaucrats always find a way to screw that up too but I digress. If the USPS and The Social Security Administration are any indication of the effectiveness of government run entities, we're all in for an even more rude awakening than we could ever imagine.

Those of us in our right state of mind understand what is happening but my fear is that most American don't. Since the looters (liberals) control most of the media, Obama and his minions are able to spread the big lie that they are helping rather than stealing our freedom. It is imperative that conservatives continue to fight the good fight and limit the damage they are doing to our country.

Think of it like this: if Obama has been able to make such a major shift towards a socialist state in 100 days, what will he be able to accomplish in the 1,300+ that he has left?
